February 24, 2024
Happy New Year!!  I was very busy in the end of the year of 2023.

One of the highlight of December was Christmas caroling with JP students and teachers.   We went to 8 homes to celebrate Jesus’s birth and many were unbelieving homes.  However, they wanted us to come and sing Christmas songs.  Some sang with us and I believe they remembered the celebrations of their old times.  At the end of every house visit, we blessed them through prayers.  They welcomed us and some even gave gift bags for each one.  After the visits, we all celebrated together at the Chick-fil-a.  What a beautiful day it was.  I was just grateful to sing of the birth of Jesus in front of many homes.  Few days later, our neighbors were going around the neighborhood singing Christmas songs, so I joined them and sang in front of 15 houses.  Some houses welcomed us with whole families coming out to the porch to sing with us.  Some took pictures, and some never came out.  But we were filled with Jesus that night to going around visiting our neighbors.  I am blessed to have these neighbors who celebrate the birth of Jesus.

We conclude the year with a JP leadership retreat.  It was an intimate and blessed training retreat.  Only those who were commited to Jesus came.  We had multi-ethnic students: Indian, Chinese, Hispanic, and Koreans. One of our speakers was P. Moses, who is a missionary to India.  He has his own church in Chantilly, but he often travels around the world to share the gospel.  During the retreat, we had several contests: praise, talent, and sermon.  I was very surprised by the sermon given by young people.  They were fun, meaningful and showed their understanding of the bible.  I pray that our JP will go out and make disciples in 2024.  I don’t want them to just maintain their faith by attending church worship, but to be active in making discples.

God has been guiding our JP worship on Saturdays and it is continuing to raise leaders for future generations.

I thank God for my son-in-law, Steven, who stepped up to help out with JP praise.  We have several trained praise leaders and they rotate to work with the youth students.  Our high school students are serving at their Sunday school and in their church adult praise team.  I want to make them leaders so they can become small group leaders when they enter college.  Graduated JP alumnus are currently serving at their churches as church leaders.  I give all the glory to God.

I want to proclaim that my God is living God and that He answered my prayers.

For several months, I had a problem with my implant tooth.  My crown tooth screws broke in 2 places.  My patient dentist saw me often to try different ways to unscrew the broken crown.  It was very complicated and I wanted save my good implant and money.  I had to be patient and continued to pray for God’s mercy.  I made a deal with God, “God, if you will solve my implant issue then I want to give the savings to His kingdom work.”  By the grace of God, my dentist was able to get both screws out so I could put in a new crown.  I am so thankful to God and my dentist.  I don’t need to spend too much money on my implant but I can give more to kingdom work.  “God, I thank you, thank you, and thank you!!”

Also, I thank God for providing a wonderful bride for my son, Danny.  Danny & Hayne are married on February 16, 2024.  Since they both are medical students, we had a small family wedding.  It was intimate and meaningful covenant worship.  They want to have a Christ-centered family so please pray for the new couple as they build a firm foundation in His word.

I give all the glory to God.  He is so good to me and I am so overwhelmed by His grace.

My prayer requests are:
1) I would be always filled by the Holy Spirit to continue my mission work.  My newly started family-life ministry will expand and bear much fruits.

2) JP will become more active in making disciples for future generations

3)My daughter, Joy, will have a child in May so please pray for a safe pregnancy & delivery,  and that the baby will be healthy.

4)Danny’s new family will be firmly established on the word of God and they will be blessed with many children.
